What is CareerVertex?

CareerVertex is an AI-powered CV analysis platform that helps you optimise your CV for specific job applications. Upload your CV, paste a job description, and get detailed insights on how well your CV matches the role — along with actionable suggestions to improve your chances.

Getting Started

Upload Your CV

Go to Analyse CV and upload your CV using the "Upload New" tab, or select a previously uploaded CV with "Select Existing". Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, DOC, TXT (max 5MB).

Provide a Job Description

Paste the full job posting text into the Job Description section. Include the job title and company name for the most accurate analysis. You can also upload a job posting file.

Run the Analysis

Click "Analyse CV" to start. The AI will compare your CV against the job description and generate a comprehensive report within seconds.

Review Your Results

Get your match score, strengths, areas for improvement, missing keywords, and personalised interview preparation questions.

What the Analysis Includes

Match Score (0-100)

An overall score showing how well your CV aligns with the job requirements.

Section Scores

Detailed scores for skills match, experience relevance, education fit, CV quality, and presentation.

Missing Keywords

Important keywords from the job posting that are missing from your CV.

Strengths

What your CV does well relative to the role you're applying for.

Improvement Areas

Specific gaps between your CV and the job requirements, with suggestions.

Interview Prep

Likely interview questions with guidance on how to answer them effectively.

CV Quality Score

Each CV is also scored independently on four quality dimensions:

Structure

How well-organised and formatted your CV is — clear sections, logical flow, and readability.

Completeness

Whether it includes all essential sections: contact info, summary, experience, education, and skills.

Clarity

Is the writing clear, concise, and professional with quantified achievements?

ATS Compatibility

How well your CV works with Applicant Tracking Systems — standard headings, no complex formatting.

Understanding Your Scores

Score Range Rating What It Means
75 - 100 Excellent Strong match — your CV aligns well with the role. Prioritise applying.
60 - 74 Good Decent match with room for improvement. Address the suggested gaps before applying.
0 - 59 Needs Work Significant gaps exist. Review missing keywords and improvement areas carefully.

Credits & Billing

CareerVertex uses a prepaid credit system. Each analysis deducts a small amount from your credit balance based on the complexity of the analysis.

  • CV Quality Review — A quick quality check of your CV on its own.
  • JD Match Analysis — A full comparison of your CV against a specific job description.

You can view your credit balance in the top navigation bar and manage your billing from the Account page.

Tip: Each analysis typically costs less than £1. You can see exact costs for each analysis in your usage history.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use a well-formatted CV with clear section headings (Experience, Education, Skills, etc.)
  • Paste the full job description — the more detail, the more accurate the analysis.
  • Keep your CV to 1-3 pages for the best analysis quality.
  • Avoid images, tables, and complex layouts — use standard text formatting for ATS compatibility.
  • Include relevant industry keywords in your CV that match common job requirements.
  • Run multiple analyses — tailor your CV for each job and re-analyse to track improvements.
